LAMP flash cards
Co-creative direction. Writing. Editing.
Working with the Indiana University Liberal Arts and Management Program (LAMP) as the creative team at IU Creative Services—me and masterful designer George Brown—is in my top 10 client experiences. Our LAMP clients asked for a student-recruitment campaign that focused on infinite career opportunities for liberal arts students who have a strong business and management background.
George and I came up with the idea of a set of cards that evoked addition flash cards, employing object photography depicting a different lamp for the liberal arts side of the equation, and a symbolic object for the management side of the equation. Both sides add up to a career such as art museum curator, retail business analyst, international stage director, or diplomat. The backs of the flash cards described the program and its extracurricular benefits, like overseas internships.
Our LAMP clients and their current and potential students ("LAMPers") were beside themselves. They loved the cards! This creative concept was broadly used in subsequent LAMP branding efforts—on their website, on swag items, and in other promotional vehicles.
